NEWMUSICMONDAY: BASTILLE, LONDON GRAMMAR, L'ORANGE & ROSES GABOR

Ho ho ho. How are we this week gang? I trust your Christmas celebration have been underway and that you are spreading Christmas cheer like nobodies business! Its a right English affair with this week's NewMusicMonday with a little Nth Carolina flavour thrown in for good measure ;) Enjoy!

1. BASTILLE - NO ANGELS
Oh this is so awesome! UK artist Dan Smith together with his band (collectively called, Bastille) have release part two of their mixtape; Other People's Heartaches which is one super awesome mixtape. This track is the Bastille's mix of infamous TLC song No Scrubs, and I absolutely love this. Who would have thought that a cover of 90s RnB song could sound this good! The South London band are in fact giving the mixtpe away for free on their site here.

2. LONDON GRAMMAR - HEY NOW
If you are a fan or Florence & The Machine, and other hauntingly beautiful female vocals then chances are you are probably going to lust over London Grammar. These guys have been keeping a lot of music enthusisats in anticipation for their album, and with this single they definitely have lived up to the hype. I am pretty stoked to be hearing more from these London duos.

3. L'ORANGE - ALONE FT BLU
I am a huge fan of sampling be it new or old. And this track by North Carolina producer L'Orange just goes to show that when sampling is done right, it can be some of the prettiest music out. L'Orange uses a lot of jazz and blues samples from the 30s and 40s (my favourite!!!) when it comes to mixing his tracks. This song features Californian rapper Blu, who reminds me a little of Mos Def when it comes to his rapping style. Anyway, L'Orange's album, The Mad Writer, is out now - so if you're also a lover of sampling and producers - get on that yo!

4. ROSES GABOR - NIGHT SKY
Lets round out today's post with another English lassie in Rose Gabor. Her voice is so pretty but the track itself hits so many hard notes that you can't help but get up and groove. Found this lovely lady off of Pitchfork's One To Watch for 2013 list. And I most definitely will have to agree. Big things are coming for Roses so I am along for the ride with this one.

And thats it from me this week, what tracks have you been enjoying?
